Happy 2nd Birthday Ian!

Good Morning Birthday Boy!
The Big Two Year Old

Birthday lunch with Daddy

Spaghetti dinner
Ian woke up this morning to a table and chair set and a Mickey Mouse doctor kit in honor of turning 2! I love surprising him because his timidity to new things (even presents) is so endearing. We spent the morning playing with new toys and eating cinnamon rolls (his breakfast of choice). We then went to lunch at the Cheese Shop in Colonial Williamsburg and let Ian run around in Merchant Square. For dinner, Mom made his favorite spaghetti meal and he finished his day with an oreo cheesecake brownie for dessert! YUM!
I'm still a bit in shock that he has already turned 2. These two years have changed our lives in unspeakable ways and I'm grateful for this precious, happy, vibrant little boy who keeps me running and thinking and smiling and praying on a daily basis. Ian, you enjoy this world so much. You love reading books, especially the Bible and you ask to "see Jesus" most every day. You love puzzles and coloring. You adore Bob and Larry from Veggie Tales and you still ask to watch Mickey Mouse each morning. Your favorite movies are The Incredibles and Ice Age and your dad and I have most of the lines memorized to both. Trucks are still your main toy of choice :) and not a day goes by that we aren't pushing them through our house or sliding them down your car ramps. You have a wonderful love of music; you dance constantly by shaking your hips from side to side and you typically "perform" your own personal musical in our living room every few days. You and I even have a dance called the "Mommy dance." We'll show you the video one day...You ask Daddy to play the "tar" (guitar) quite often. We listen to Chris Tomlin every day and you've begun to sing along to the praise music in the car. You're very chatty, though I can usually only make out every few words. You seem to have your own language and thankfully, I've learn to speak it quite well. You still ask to "wock" (rock) before bedtime and your "waumb" (lamb blanket) is still your best friend. You've actually added a brown blanket to the mix and he is affectionately known as "bwaumb." You're a great sleeper most nights, but unfortunately you're starting to rise earlier than I'd like :) You inhale milk and juice and you're still not a fan of anything sweet (except the oreo cheesecake brownie from the Cheese Shop). You play well with other kids and have made two friends in VA, Lincoln and Reed. You give amazing hugs and kisses and have the sweetest way of saying "I love you." You like going "bye bye" but you also enjoy being at home with your toys. You're eating very well with a fork but spoons are still a struggle. No potty-training yet. It's diaper city all the way here! Your allergies are insane...I'm definitely hoping you grow out of them in time. Football is your favorite sport and though we shouldn't, we let you play it in the house. You like running with it rather than throwing, so I'm pushing for another star running back for the Auburn Tigers in 16 years! You're very friendly toward most people and like giving high-fives and "knuckles" to WalMart workers :) You're still extremely particular and once something is done a certain way, you're adamant that it will always be done that way. You don't like messes and you tend to point them out until they are cleaned up. You're a great helper and usually quite cooperative. You enjoy pleasing your dad and me and love to make us laugh. Ian, being your mom is more amazing that I could have ever imagined. You make my heart whole sweet boy. Happy, happy birthday. It's a joy watching you grow up...
