Is Ian already a Toddler?

Ian and Daddy both trying out the new mat

I took Ian to Mother's Day Out last week only to find that he had been moved to a new class for young toddlers. I was completely unprepared for the transition and didn't have anything ready. His new teachers said that he needed a napmat and could use an extra one for the first day. My thought...NAPMAT?! There's no way Ian will sleep on a napmat! I was concerned about his adjustment the entire six hours and felt so sorry for him that I bought a DVD and new puzzle for a happy day surprise. Well, the surprise was on me! When I picked him up, he was sitting in a circle with his classmates listening to a story and the first thing his teacher said was "Ian slept over an hour on the napmat." I am completely impressed with you little man...You adjust to new environments so well, much better than I do. You take to new people with ease and seem to offer grace to those who are seeking your attention. You enjoy playtime no matter where you are or who you're with and are a wonderful rule follower. Thank you for having such patience with your mom as I watch you take on new challenges and face new seasons of your life. It's a joy watching you grow up...

The Liggin Clan

Four Generations of Liggin Men
The whole clan

We had a wonderful visit with Fred's family and took the opportunity to have family pictures made. As a bonus, Fred's grandfather (affectionately known as Pepaw) was visiting the States as well which made the "Four Generations" picture complete.

Our Visit with Leigh Ann and Haley

Our brood keeps growing and growing...

I was so thankful to have the chance to visit with my oldest and dearest friends Leigh Ann and Haley and their families while we were in Alabama. We met at Charlotte's house for dinner and a chance to quickly catch up while our children played. It's hard to believe that nearly 33 years of friendship has passed with the three of us. Though we obviously don't get to see one another as much as we'd like, sharing sweet moments like these are still special and important.

Playtime with Aunt Sherre

Ian spent a lot of time with Aunt Sherre during our visit in Moulton. He loved playing in the kiddie pool so much that we had to get one for him once we returned to Texas.

Ian's First Auburn Hat

There are certain "rights of passage" in a boy's life and his first baseball hat is definitely one of them. We stopped in Auburn during our trip to the southeast to give Ian his first cap.

No more highchairs for Ian

Here lately we've noticed that Ian seems older. He definitely "talks" more, but he's starting to act like a big boy. Here he is in a booster, not a highchair during my Mother's Day lunch and then sitting all by himself at the table at Papaw's house in Moulton.

First Swim of the Summer

I love swimming, so I hoped Ian would take to the pool quickly...and he did. We enjoyed part of Memorial Day weekend with the Murrell's, Holliday's, and Sharpe's (minus Amos) and their precious children. Ian liked the float, but he really preferred splashing and kicking about. Summer's going to be fun!
