Swim Lessons with Mommy

Playing on the steps...his favorite spot in the pool

Learning to blow bubbles

Ian and I started parent-child swim lessons in January to get him used to the water. He loved our pool in Amarillo so I didn't think getting used to water would be a difficult task...and it wasn't! In the last eight weeks, he's learned to jump off the side, kick his legs, blow bubbles, float on his back, and balance himself using his arms and tummy. He has shown NO FEAR of the "poof" (aka "pool") and seems to love swimming. I'm so excited for summer!

A Walk along the Riverbank

One of the great things about Williamsburg is being surrounded by so much water. The James and York Rivers lie on either side of Williamsburg and have nice beach areas to walk along. Both rivers seem as large as a bay. Unfortunately Ian is still used to being landlocked (thanks Amarillo) and isn't use to the water or sand. He rode on Fred's shoulders most of the way but did attempt to withstand the sand once or twice. We enjoyed spending time along the riverbank, walking in the sand and watching the peaceful ripples wash on shore. Ahhh, the east coast...

Ian's First Day in the Kitchen

Ian helped Mommy make rice krispy treats today. He worked hard pouring and stirring and stealing a few marshmellows along the way. I think he enjoyed his first experience in the kitchen.

Happy Valentine's Day

We tried repeatedly to get a smile today with the camera but no such luck. Even his Valentine's Day surprises didn't cheer him up enough for a smile. I guess even two-year-olds have those days. We still spent a nice day together as a family and spent much needed outdoor time at the park.

Big Boy Haircut

Ian's hair went crazy curly in the last few months so we decided to go with a more managable look...the big boy haircut. It really did change his baby face to a big boy face.
