Ian has gotten more brave about jumping off the side of the pool and can even go underwater without his swimmies now. He loves the pool and has spent lots of time in the water this summer.
This boy loves talking on the phone! Every time the phone rings, he begs to "say hi" to whomever is on the other end of the line. Therefore it was only fitting to snap a few pics of him telling his granddaddy about Elmo at Busch Gardens.
Ian's now old enough to realize that birthdays are for having fun. So, mommy spent her 34th at Busch Gardens with her two favorite guys on the planet and had lots of fun. Thanks for making my day so special Fred and Ian! Wouldn't have it any other way!
One good thing about living in VA is being so close to Elana, Paul, and the boys. They came for a quick visit to Water Country and then we joined them for the day at VA Beach. It's nice to see Ian spend time with his cousins and enjoy family.
On our way to see Lightning McQueen! We took Ian to see his first movie, Cars 2 this summer. And he LOVED it! Not surprising but we questioned whether or not he would sit through a movie for two hours. However, I think having his buddy Reed with him made a huge difference.
After NEVER seeing water while living in Amarillo, we see LOTS of it now that we live in Williamsburg. We spend many hours playing on the banks of the James River. Ian plays while Mommy tans...seems like a fun way to spend the day!
We spent Memorial Day weekend camping with our life group at Cherrystone on the Eastern Shore of VA. There were 22 of us in all and we had a blast! The kids biked and swam and played putt putt the entire weekend. I especially enjoyed our late night campfire once the kids were put to bed. It's really wonderful to connect with such Godly families in such a short time. Our life group is very special and it was great to spend the weekend with them.
We found out the hard way that Ian is allergic to peanuts. The poor boy landed in the ER after eating a peanut butter cracker for the first time. However, he didn't seem too concerned about this allergy as he watched Cars on Fred's iphone for two hours while being observed. He was a champ but will never know the joy of a Reese's cup...
We LOVE eating strawberries at our house so we jumped at the first chance we got to pick strawberries this season. We went with our good friends the Smith's and filled our baskets and bellies to the brim!
We took Ian on the ferry to pick strawberries in Surry just across the James River. Seagulls were everywhere especially when a loaf of bread is a stake! Ian really enjoyed riding the "boat."
We'd been noticing for several months that Ian seemed uncomfortable in his crib so the search began for a big boy bed. I wasn't sure what to expect with this change but as always, Ian surprised me with how easily he adapted to his new sleeping arrangements. His gigggles were contagious as he climbed in for the first time saying "big bed." It was so precious to see him lying there as an official "big boy."
