Another Trip to the Canyon
Headed to the canyon wearing Melissa's shades
Our friend Melissa was visiting from UGA over the weekend and we took her to see Palo Duro Canyon. I was able to get a few more pics with better lighting this time so I thought I'd post them. We really love coming out to this peaceful place that used to be inhabited by American Indians who were of course taken down by the white men of Texas...still, it's an interesting part of God's creation and I'm glad the white men of Texas have preserved it so well :)

4th of July
Playing inside during the rain
The serene setting for our 4th of July cookout
One of my favorite things about living in the high plains of Texas...the big sky!
We may have missed the fireworks show, but God gave us His natural fireworks on the drove home...just beautiful.
Wiped out after an evening of food and fun
Our 4th of July weekend began with a lot of rain. We spent Saturday attempting to entertain Ian and being quite lazy. Thankfully, the weather cooperated on Sunday and we were able to join several friends for a cookout. Since it doesn't get completely dark in Amarillo until almost 10:00, we missed out on the firework show. Poor Ian can't handle late nights yet...but I'm sure we won't be able to keep him from them one day.
